Looters Recovering from Disastrous Post-All Star Break Collapse

Things were riding high for the Looters heading into the all star break.  Just a few games out of the wild card lead, and a 46-41 record.  However, things took a turn for the worse out of the all star break.  The first bad omen was just before the break when 2B Jaime Manuel went down injured.  Afterwards every few days a new injury would creep up after break.  CF Jose Estrada twice, 1B Tony Marin, RF Errol Hughes, SP Kevin Lane, 3B Anthony Hunt, 3B John Brown, C Jesus Soto, and CF Alex Herrejon.  It has been a constant battle of call ups and replacements that made the Looters into sellers at the trade deadline, rather than buyers as they appeared to be prior to the all star break.  In July from the all star break to the deadline, the Looters played to a record of 6-12 bringing their overall record to 52-53.

Their misfortunes didn't end at the deadline though with all the injuries piled up they continued losing through August.  Through the first 3 weeks of August the Looters were 6-14 dropping their record to 58-67, a whooping 9 games under .500 after being 5 above just 6 weeks prior.  However, all is not lost, as the Looters are beginning their quest to finish at .500 with a 5-2 week the last week to cut their record to 5 under .500.  The Looters play league worst New York Knights next sim before facing a relatively easier September that could have been a walk into the playoffs if they hadn't stumbled for 6 weeks from injuries.

A look ahead to September has the Looters welcoming the Bruins and Jackhammers to town.  This will be a tough home stand as the Looters have struggled against the Jackhammers all year with only a 5-8 record against leading partially to their overall downfall this year.  Next the Looters take a road trip to Maui, before going to the hell hole of Hendersonville.  The Looters then return home for another long home stand of Los Cabos, Jacksonville, and Niagara Falls before ending the season at Orlando who the Looters have only lost 2 games to all year in 16 tries.

The Looters will need to go 18-12 over their final 30 to get to .500 which will be a tough task, but is doable if the Looters drop relatively few games to teams other than Los Angeles and Hendersonville.  Next sim Tyler Law will also go for his 10th win of the year, which would make him the 4th pitcher in franchise history to post double digit wins in a season joining Bill Maddox (2011), Jorge Crus (2010), and Adrian Marshall (2010).
