Injuries, Trading, Signings, and Promotions Oh My

The Looters made a series of announcements today following the results of the prior simulation. Big news came down in New Orleans when it was discovered that starting pitcher Armando Felix ending his run as the ace of the staff. His injury will sideline him for 14 months knocking him out for the rest of this year and all of 2014. On the season Felix racked up a 8-9 record with a 4.84 ERA, 78 K, and a 1.57 WHIP. He will go onto the 60 day DL.

Also joining the DL is the teams first baseman Leonard Crowley. Crowley had cemented himself as the starter freeing up the team to deal Nathan Lammas. Crowley hit .252/310/482 slash line with 15 homers, but a hip strain has done him in and he will be out until September roster expansion.

Also leaving New Orleans to make room is SP Bill Maddox. Maddox once the head of the rotation and future hope of the Looters has had an awful year. Maddox has a 2-12 record on the year sporting a 6.91 ERA. He's allowed a plentiful amount of base runners as well with a 1.80 ERA. Maddox is setting out to AAA to try to regain his form.

Joining the Looters are two promotions from AAA Allentown. The biggest is the addition of Rob "Big House" King to the big league squad. He's been a highly valued member of the farm for the last years and was the Looters organization first ever entry draft pick in 2010 as the 12th pick. King so far in AAA this year has a 4.23 ERA with a 5-10 record averaging nearly a K per inning with a 115 ERA+. Also rejoining the squad is MR Alphonse Chiaudani who was demoted last sim to make room on the roster at the time. Chiaudani was recently claimed on waivers.

Also joining the Looters in the last sim was a free agent signing. The Looters hit 1B Tony Marin hard from the time he got released by Kansas City making an offer ever sim over the month he was a free agent. Ultimately the persistence paid off as Marin inked a 2 year, 4.9 million contract to be the Looters first baseman. Looters scout Rafael Martinez pushed heavy for this signing and the Looters hope Marin lives up to the hype. Marin had 16 AB with KC with 3 hits, but two of them were homers. He will have some growing pains, but is only 24 years old and fits into the Looters rebuilding plans.
