Looters Trade Closer

Today the Looters announced the trading of their closer Zi-Jun Chou.  Chou who was one of the original members to move to New Orleans with the new GM now bids adieu to the Looters franchise.

The Looters announced the Zi-Jun Chou and an undisclosed amount of cash will be heading to the fine folks in Los Angeles in return for starting pitcher Tyler Law.  Law will immediately slot into the rotation and will provide stability to the rotation that has seen multiple members shuffle in and out.  Law will join Kevin Lane who was also acquired this year at the top of the rotation.  The Looters have not yet announced who will be moving out of the starting rotation, but common thought is that it could be Bill Maddox who has struggled this year mightily or Rafael Santillanenz who was previously acquired on waivers.  Maddox still has option years remaining and could go down to AAA to try to regain his form similar to what the Looters did with Ivo Estima earlier this year.  Since his demotion Estima is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA in AAA and looks to be regaining his form from Baffin.

Also unclear is whether the Looters will continue with a 8 man bullpen or reduce to 7 to gain another bench bat now that SS Anthony Hunt and RF Donald Ellis are eligible to return from the DL.  Adam Considine will be a casualty for sure returning to AAA, but who will clear the second spot is still in the air.  Recent waiver acquisition MR Alphonse Chiaudani is thought to be a potential victim as he has option years remaining.  However, with the trade, it may mean Chiaudani staying up if Maddox is sent to AAA to work on his delivery.
